Prior to the introduction of the Portalevel™, the only way for a fire engineer to verify the levels of liquid gaseous extinguishants in cylinders was to shut down, dismantle and weigh the system (a very time consuming procedure and potentially damaging to the connections), or to use radioactive instrumentation.
The advantages of the Portalevel™ include:
Identifies liquid levels in cylinders, and single skinned holding vessels up to 1” (25mm) wall thickness
No health and safety at work or IATA transportation restrictions. No operational shut downs necessary.
Uses: Industrial Co2, Halon, Halon replacement fire protection systems, offshore platform dispersed banked systems, marine single & multi-banked systems, engine room and other power generating protection systems.
Below are some of the marine vessels we look after for fire extinguishers and of course these are fitted with single, double and quad bank fixed Co2 systems protecting the engine rooms. These vessels include luxurious replica paddle steamer (below) Thames Luxury Charters PS Dixie Queen and the MV Erasmus.
